1. All flying shall be conducted in accordance with Canadian Air Regulations. All flying operations shall comply with the conditions of the Operating Certificate issued to the Regina Flying Club.
2. Aircraft shall be available only to flying or sustaining members in good standing with the Regina Flying Club.
3. All solo flying by student pilots must be carried out within a 25-mile radius of the airport, unless otherwise authorized by a Club Instructor.
4. All cross country flights and all landings at other than the home airport must be specifically authorized by the CFI (Chief Flying Instructor) or his/her delegate.
5. All solo training flights must be authorized by a Club Instructor. NO AEROBATICS MAY BE CARRIED OUT.
6. In the case of an emergency or unauthorized landing away from the home base, the pilot shall immediately contact the Club, giving all particulars of the cause of the landing and its location, and shall not attempt to take off again without permission. The Transportation Safety Board should be notified if appropriate.
7. It is the pilot's own responsibility to keep his medical up-to-date.
8. It is the pilot's own responsibility to see that loose articles are removed or secured, and that fuel and oil are sufficient for the intended flight with the required safety reserve.
9. Seat belts must be properly fitted and secured at all times while the aircraft is in motion, on the ground or in the air.
10. No pilot shall be permitted to fly while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication capable of impairing his ability, nor shall he/she carry a passenger in similar condition.
11. Only competent persons, authorized by a Club Instructor, may attempt to swing aircraft propellers.
12. No aircraft shall be started unless a competent person is at the controls and the wheels are suitably restrained from forward motion.
13. Pilots must report any unserviceability or unusually hard landings to a Club employee immediately.
14. Low flying is prohibited. All solo flights must be carried out at an altitude of at least 1,000 feet above the ground, except when taking off or landing or unless in the practice area and then only to 500 feet. If a pilot is caught in bad weather, safety will be the deciding factor in selecting an altitude at which to fly, and if this is below 1,000 feet, the pilot must report same to the instructor after landing.
15. The Club Instructor may check the ability of any licensed pilot, at any time such a check is considered necessary. Pilots with less than 100 hours total time must have flown one hour within the last 30 days to remain current. Pilots with more than 100 hours total time must have flown one hour within the last 60 days to remain current. Any pilot who has not flown 50 hours within the previous year will require an annual recertification by an approved Regina Flying Club Instructor.
16. All taxiing will be done slowly and with due regard to safety. All aircraft must be stopped at a safe distance from the hangars or buildings unless a competent person is directing the pilot. Aircraft engines must not be started or run in the hangar at any time.
17. Pilots shall acquaint themselves with the position of the fire extinguisher in each aircraft and the method of using same.
18. All aircraft engines must be stopped before passengers board or depart from the aircraft.
19. Aircraft leaving the hangar clean must be brought back clean, or the pilot will be charged for the clean up.
20. Local flying means flights within a radius of 25 miles of the Regina airport. Flights beyond the 25-mile radius should have a flight plan or flight itinerary filed.
21. Aircraft shall be returned to the Club by the agreed time, weather permitting. A phone call to the Club to notify us of the delay must be made.
22. Pilots and students should book their flying in advance, if at all possible, particularly for weekends and evenings.
23. All landings, other than at Regina, must be authorized by an Instructor. If the renter is unable to reach the company by phone for authorization, additional landings are not allowed.
24. A Flight Plan or Flight Itinerary must be filed for each intended landing. Flight Plans are not required for local flights. However, pilots must specify their intended route and area.
25. Flight into mountainous regions is not allowed unless authorized by an Instructor.
26. Weather briefings must be received prior to each flight, even if long distance calls are required at the pilot's expense.
27. Sufficient current charts must be carried.
28. Fuel requirements must be strictly adhered to (i.e. 30-minute reserve). Visual inspection of fuel tanks and fuel caps must be carried out.
29. Over-water altitude criteria must be adhered to.
30. The Club must be advised by phone if delays are imminent, or if any problems are encountered. If any damage is incurred enroute, the aircraft shall be grounded and the Club must be notified before flight resumes.
31. Ensuring that the aircraft is operated ONLY when airworthy is the sole responsibility of the pilot-in-command. The following documents must be on board the aircraft:
1. Certificate of Airworthiness
2. Certificate of Registration
3. Owners Manual
4. Weight and Balance
5. Proof of Insurance
6. Journey Logbook (beyond 25 nm)
7. Pilot Licence, valid Medical Certificate and Radio Operator's Licence
32. The pilot-in-command will confirm the aircraft has sufficient fuel and oil and complete a Weight and Balance prior to the flight to assure the aircraft is within the Weight and Balance limits for the intended flight.
33. Both "Hobbs Meter" flight time and actual air time (wheels up to wheels down) must be recorded for each flight and each must be entered in the Journey Logbook or on the Flight Sheet.
34. All personal fuel purchases will be deducted from the rental bill upon receipt of appropriate invoices. The Club normally provides credit cards.
35. All storage, starting, heating, tie-down costs and landing fees are the responsibility of the renter.
36. The pilot-in-command will be the only occupant permitted to fly the aircraft and shall occupy the left-hand seat unless otherwise authorized.
37. All defects shall be reported immediately upon return of the aircraft by filling out the snag sheet.
38. The Club requests your co-operation regarding notification of cancellations or change of itinerary so as to facilitate other customers.
39. The Regina Flying Club aircraft all have third-party liability in the amount of
$1,000,000.00 and, in addition, all aircraft have hull insurance. The pilot-in-command is responsible for any deductibles ($1,000.00 not-in-motion, and $1,000.00 in-motion). Any accident must be reported to the Regina Flying Club immediately.
