AVIATION CAREERS
The Regina Flying Club has two options for those interested in a career in aviation:
If you are interested in any form of career in aviation, you must complete your Private Pilot License and Commercial Pilot License before working as a pilot.
For those who wish to become a crop sprayer, photo pilot or the like, the Private and Commercial Licenses may be enough for you.
If you are interested in becoming a charter pilot, corporate pilot or ultimately an airline pilot, after completing the Private and Commercial Licenses, you should do your Multi Engine Rating and Multi Engine Instrument Rating.
With the advancements in aviation technology knowledge requirements, the Regina Flying Club recommends the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology Diploma Ground School at Kelsey Campus in Saskatoon, SK. This better prepares you for the greater amount of education required by airlines. All the flight training may still be done here at the Regina Flying Club.
As an International student, the SIAST Commercial Pilot Diploma Program may be more than you desire. The Regina Flying Club can set up a program for you that will meet your needs.
The Instructor Path
After completing your Commercial Pilot training, the Regina Flying Club also offers an Instructor Rating to those who wish to gain flight experience as an Instructor. The Regina Flying Club hires virtually all of their Instructor graduates. The demand for instructors is at an all time high across Canada. The Multi Engine Rating and Multi Engine Instrument Rating are optional when you begin as an Instructor.
International students will have to acquire a work permit to be able to use their Instructor Rating in Canada.
